Job Posting ESI Paraprofessional Indian Lake Elementary 2026-2027
School Year Salary:
Per VPA Contract Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support students in an elementary school setting. This position will be hired on a
TEMPORARY
basis for the 2026-2027 school year only. The ESI Paraprofessional will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide assistance to students needed extra medical attention and academic support. The position requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. This position works 8:30-3:45pm, Mon-Fri, student days only, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, approximately 33.75 hours per week. Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and positive learning environment in the classroom, during transitions and other settings, addressing any behavioral issues in accordance with school policies.
  • Collaborate with other education professionals to support student needs.
  • Assist students academically, behaviorally, and medically in a school setting.
  • Assistance with daily care and support with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene & grooming, toileting, dressing, and feeding may be required.
  • Preparation and adaptation of instructional materials under the direction of the teachers.
  • Implementation of students' academic, medical and positive behavioral support plans.
  • Support students during instructional and non-instructional activities.
  • Support other school functions as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned by building principal or their designee.
  • The above duties and responsibilities are intended to be representative of the nature of the work by this position. The listing is not all-inclusive. Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • An associate degree or higher in education, or passing ETS Paraprofessional exam score, is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with high school aged children is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working with children with medical needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to regular and predictable attendance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with students and staff.
  • Must pass background checks and comply with state and district requirements for working with students. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move about the building and campus to assist students.
  • May require and employee to lift and/or move heavy objects (up to 50lbs).
  • May require working in both general and special education environments.
  • May require assistance with daily care and basic medical support such as diabetic monitoring and other medical needs such as toiletry and hygiene needs.
