Job Description

WHO WE ARE
Whitmore Lake Public Schools serves approximately 800 students in preschool-12th grade and their families in Whitmore Lake and the surrounding area. Whitmore Lake Preschool and Kids Club programs are programs of the Early Childhood Center, and the elementary school, located at the Whitmore Lake Elementary School. We are dedicated to providing exceptional, personalized education to all. At the heart of all we do is our tight-knit Trojan community including our students, their families and our staff. TrojanPride SALARY and FTE:
Per the paraprofessional contract: Step 1 at $17.51 per hour
School Year Schedule Full-time:
7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (40 hours per week)
WORK LOCATION
Whitmore Lake Elementary School 1077 Barker Road, Whitmore Lake, MI 48189
WHAT WE NEED:
An individual who loves working with preschool children in a positive school setting. Possesses strong interpersonal skills and can work as a team, with the classroom teacher, other program staff, the school and the community. Ability to follow all school district, licensing, Great Start to Quality and Early Childhood Standards.
Seeking an individual with experience:
Ability to interact, connect and provide meaningful positive relationships with preschool aged children and their families while following solid early childhood practices. Providing a safe, healthy and comfortable learning environment for preschool aged children. Working as a team with the classroom teacher, school staff, families and the community. Strong communication skills with an ability to take direction and follow through with needed trainings and professional development as required.
WHAT YOU NEED
High school diploma Child Development Associates degree (CDA) or an Associates degree in Early Childhood Experience working with preschool aged children in an educational setting.
