Instructional Paraprofessional(s) up to 5 positions, Grades K-2 Part-time up to 29 hours per week.

Godwin Heights Public Schools seeks a passionate and dedicated Reading Paraprofessional to support flexible programs and classroom environments that support both academic growth and personal development. The ideal candidate will establish effective rapport with students, motivate them to develop essential skills and knowledge according to their abilities, and foster strong relationships with parents and staff.
Reading Para Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Knowledge/experience of Response to Intervention program. Knowledge/experience of foundational literacy Awareness of varied and innovative delivery systems that promote high standards Ability to communicate well at various levels with students and school personnel Ability to work collaboratively in both large and small group instruction Proficient in the use of computers/technology in the teaching setting Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to work independently Regular and predictable attendance
Qualifications:
Bilingual Spanish (Desired) Valid Teaching certificate (desired)
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree, 60 Credit hours, or Parapro Praxis Test (Paraprofessional positions)
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, and hear (in a quiet or noisy environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust/focus .
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate. Work is performed indoors, although there will be required outdoor activities. The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being, and work output of students.
Mental Functions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing in the English language, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, and compile and negotiate.
