Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Support young learners as a paraprofessional in a center-based program serving children ages 2½ to 3. This contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful contribution to early education while broadening your professional experience. The assignment runs from September 8, 2026, to December 7, 2026, with weekday hours from 8:00am to 2:30pm.
Qualifications:
Highly Qualified status required (must meet ONE of the following): Passing score on the MN Board Highly Qualified Paraprofessional Exam (Para Educator Exam) Minimum of 60 college credits—official transcripts required (diplomas/degrees will not suffice) Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in early childhood preferred Experience supporting young children, especially those under five, valued Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to work collaboratively within a center-based team
Key Responsibilities:
Provide assistance and guided support under the direction of licensed classroom staff Help implement individualized learning plans and accommodations Foster positive social and emotional development among toddlers Support daily activities, routines, and classroom management Maintain required documentation as directed Engage in effective communication with staff and families as appropriate
