Job description: SPED Para STEP Academy is a K-12 charter school located in St. Paul and Burnsville, Minnesota that serves a student body primarily made up of first generation Somali/East African students. As a destination school, STEP Academy ensures all students are nurtured and empowered to use their personal attributes and acquired knowledge to have the choice to participate in early college entry through the Minnesota PSEO program. STEP Academy is dedicated to the growth and development of our entire learning community: students, staff, parents, and administrators.
The Position:
Due to program growth, STEP Academy is hiring a full time special education paraprofessional to add to our team of dedicated special education staff.Preferred Qualifications:
Two-year college degree or higher (four year degree preferred) Successful experience working with middle and high school age students Successful experience working with students with special needs Ability to support academic work for students in grades K-12 including English, math, science, and social studies Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds Ability to work cooperatively with teacher, students, staff, and parents Responsible work and attendance ethic Cultural competence Somali speaker is a plusHow To Apply:
