Lake Ripley Elementary is seeking a caring, dedicated, and student-centered Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. This position provides academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students with diverse learning needs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, specialists, and administrators to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
Schedule:
Generally 6-6.5 hours per day during the school year. Essential Functions Support teachers in reinforcing academic skills and instructional strategies across all subject areas to improve student achievement. Provide individualized and small-group support to students in classroom and school settings. Assist students in meeting academic, behavioral, and social-emotional,l goals outlined in their educational plans. Provide one-on-one assistance to students as directed by the supervising teacher and support team. Encourage student independence while providing appropriate levels of support. Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for all students. Assist with implementing behavioral interventions and positive behavior support strategies. Collect and document student data as directed by the supervising teacher. Support students during transitions, specials, lunch, recess, field trips, and other school activities as needed. Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and records. Collaborate effectively with teachers, specialists, administrators, and families to support student success. Accept and implement direction from supervising teachers and administrators. Perform other duties as assigned that support student learning and school operations. Qualifications Successful completion of the Paraeducator Assessment, or Associate's degree (AA) or higher from an accredited institution.
