Roseville Area Schools has a vacancy for a split position paraeducator and cultural liaison. As a cultural liaison you will engage with students, staff and families to promote and support student achievement through bridging the gap between the culture at home and the learning environment; promote meaningful communication between home and school; and work with individual or small groups of students to become successful participants in their schools and communities. As a paraeducator, you will support supervision of students as needed. This is a school-year position working 6 hours per day, starting September 8, 2026.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent Knowledge and understanding of African-American culture
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Bridge information from schools on enrollment paperwork, attendance, school performance issues, school policies and procedures, health notices, conferences, teacher or administrative communications Participate with families at school conferences and IEP meetings Act as a communication liaison from parents to school or school to parents including home visits when appropriate. Communicate with appropriate teachers and other district personnel as necessary on academic matters. Promote family participation in school conferences and events Promote student self-advocacy and relationship building Organize culturally specific clubs and activities Student supervision during arrival, dismissal, lunch and recess
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Candidates must have knowledge and understanding of African-American culture, ability to develop good relationships with students, families and staff and experience working with students in a school setting. Excellent communication skills Desire to provide assistance and advocacy to culturally diverse learners and their families to promote school success. Desire to be a part of system change efforts to create more culturally aware schools and community services.
Compensation:
Starting salary range is $18.31
- $20.66 per hour for Paraprofessional, and $24.45
- $28.
29 for Cultural Liaison. These salaries include a district contribution towards health and dental insurance.
