Job Title:
Montessori Classroom Assistant Job Details:

This is a full-time position (up to 8 hours per day) over a traditional 9-month school year beginning August 29, 2021.

Summary:

Works cohesively with the lead teacher by facilitating the learning process of all students as well as preparing/maintaining the classroom environment. Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Establishes and maintains a positive interpersonal relationship with all children, fellow staff, parents/guardians and the community. 2. Assists the Lead Teacher in the preparation and maintenance of the prepared Montessori environment as directed. 3. Cleans the environment, refills supplies and properly stores all classroom supplies. 4. Assists in the preparation of curriculum materials as directed. 5. Repairs materials and equipment as needed. 6. Works with individual and small groups of children as directed by the Lead Teacher. 7. Helps maintain strong relationships with the parents, relationships and community characterized by mutual respect and good will. 8. Helps with the maintenance of the inventory of the classroom. 9. Helps with the maintenance of current and accurate classroom records. 10. Attends staff meetings, in-service trainings, school events, parent/family education nights, conferences, and parent meetings when requested. 11. Maintains strong daily attendance on all school days (approximately 173 school days per academic year on average). 12. Assists with other projects, programs and planning as assigned or requested by the school's leadership. 13. Actively supervises children in the hallway, during specials classes, and while on the playground.

•Duties/responsibilities regarding the extended care program will be discussed at the time of the interview.

Required Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience working in an elementary school setting is preferred, but not required. Must have a passion for education and a love for all children!

Pay:

$19.50 - $21.00 per hour
