Paraprofessional:

Special Education LTS Falcon Ridge Elementary Student calendar/start & end times to be determined 6 hours and 30 minutes

Job Summary:

Assist students with disabilities who need support to access the curriculum and benefit from their educational placement. The responsibilities of a special education paraprofessional foster and nurture a positive learning environment for all students. A special education paraprofessional has the ability to work with a variety of disabilities that affect student communication needs, behavioral performance, self-care skills, and academic supports. Under the supervision of a special education teacher, the paraprofessional is responsible to carry out appropriate student interventions, accommodations, and modifications.

Work Requirements and Characteristics:

Education/Certification/Licensure:

High School diploma or equivalent Valid Minnesota driver's license

Experience:

Previous experience in working with children, specifically with disabilities, preferred

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge and ability to apply basic computer, math and language skills Ability to work well with students and staff Ability to work with children of various ability levels Knowledge of district discipline policy Knowledge and application of Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training if required by the position Position requires exercising confidentiality in handling district information Click here for complete job description New Prague Area Schools is a consistently growing district of 4,000 students, Pre K through 12.
