Administrative Professional and Paraprofessional Contract Position Description:
The person in this position will be responsible for providing behavioral support during the school day, both in classrooms as well as lunch/recess supervision. Duties include working one-on-one with individual students to teach and reinforce expected behaviors, supporting small groups of students who demonstrate a need for social/emotional/behavior support, actively supervising students in the cafeteria and on the playground, etc. The person would receive work direction from the associate principal.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma required. Highly Qualified Status Required. Preference for two-year post-secondary training.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work in a variety of settings with a variety of students and staff
  • May need to lift, pull and move a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Must maintain data privacy and confidentiality for all students
  • Computer skills preferred
  • Experience working with young children, preferably in a school environment
  • Ability to take direction
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Calm demeanor in high pressure situations
  • Experience teaching behavior expectations and supporting students with challenging behavior, preferred
