Building Principal Position Summary The Attendance Instructional Assistant supports Willow Creek Middle School by maintaining accurate student attendance records and ensuring timely communication with families and staff. This position plays a key role in monitoring attendance in compliance with state mandates and district policies. The Attendance Instructional Assistant also serves as the backup to the Main Office Secretary and assists with front office operations as needed to ensure smooth daily functioning. Primary Responsibilities Attendance & Compliance Maintain accurate daily student attendance records using the district's student information system Process and verify absences, tardies, and early dismissals Communicate with families regarding student absences through phone calls, emails, and written notices Monitor attendance trends and report concerns to administration and guidance staff Assist in implementing attendance procedures aligned with state mandates and district policies Prepare and maintain attendance documentation for audits, reports, and state submissions Receive and document parent/guardian communications related to attendance Manage student sign-in and sign-out procedures Maintain strict confidentiality of student records and family information Front Office Support / Backup Secretary Duties Serve as backup for the Main Office Secretary when needed Assist with front desk coverage, including greeting visitors and answering phones Route calls and visitors appropriately Support student services and main office workflows during peak times or staff absences Assist with general clerical tasks such as filing, copying, data entry, and document preparation Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills High attention to detail and accuracy Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to handle confidential information appropriately Proficiency with basic office software and student information systems (or ability to learn quickly) Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Skills & Attributes Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and staff Excellent people skills and customer-service mindset High level of attention to detail and accuracy Dependable and punctual Professional and student-centered in approach Flexible and adaptable Collaborative team member Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilitiesHourly Pay Range:
