Teaching Full Job Description Position Summary:
Aspen Academy, an award-winning K-8 charter school in Savage, MN, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate paraprofessional to support students in their academic and personal development. With small class sizes and a strong sense of community, Aspen Academy provides a nurturing environment for both staff and students. The paraprofessional will assist teachers in the classroom, work with individual students or small groups, and provide additional help to students with special needs or those requiring extra support. This position works on student contact days, with summers and holiday breaks off.
Responsibilities:
Assist teachers in the implementation of instructional plans and classroom activities. Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce lessons and support learning goals. Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs, following their individualized education plans (IEPs). Help maintain a safe, supportive, and orderly classroom environment. Supervise students during non-classroom activities, such as lunch, recess, or field trips. Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents to foster collaboration and success. Assist in clerical duties, such as preparing materials, tracking student progress, and maintaining records. Support the overall mission and vision of Aspen Academy, contributing to a positive school culture.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required. Experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to the needs of diverse learners. Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student success.
