Job Description
Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a real difference each day by providing crucial support to students in a school environment. This contract role offers the opportunity to work one-on-one with two female students—a 4th grader and an 11th grader—both of whom are medically fragile and need attentive, compassionate assistance throughout their school day. The 11th-grade student may also exhibit behaviors requiring patience and understanding. A background in paraprofessional roles within schools is required, and experience with a hoyer lift is a plus, though comprehensive training will be provided onsite.
Qualifications & Experience:
Prior experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting highly preferred Comfortable providing direct care, including toileting and diapering, for medically fragile students Ability to respond calmly and effectively to student behaviors Familiarity with mobility equipment like hoyer lifts is beneficial, but not mandatory Compassionate, dependable, and able to build rapport with students across grade levels Willingness to collaborate with other team members in a supportive environmentDuties & Responsibilities:
Offer consistent, hands-on support to both students throughout the school day Assist with daily living tasks, including toileting, diapering, feeding, and mobility support as needed Implement behavioral support strategies in coordination with the educational team Attend team meetings every Tuesday morning at 8:00 am; regular building hours are 8:45 am - 4:15 pm Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment for all learners Imagine the impact you'll have in helping these students navigate their day with dignity and independence.
