Under Grace Adult Day Program is seeking a dependable, compassionate, energetic, and creative Activity Aide / Program Assistant to help create a welcoming, engaging, and enjoyable environment for our adult participants. The Activity Aide will assist with daily activities, arts and crafts, games, music, exercise, social activities, special events, field trips, meals, and other program activities. This person will work closely with supervisors and other staff to make sure participants are engaged, safe, comfortable, and treated with dignity and respect. The ideal candidate enjoys working with older adults and is patient and comfortable interacting with individuals who may have Alzheimer's disease, dementia, memory loss, physical limitations, or other age-related needs. This is a hands-on position that requires someone who is willing to jump in and help wherever needed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESActivities & Engagement Assist with planning and facilitating daily recreational and therapeutic activities. Help lead arts and crafts, games, music, exercise, trivia, bingo, puzzles, and other activities. Encourage participants to socialize and participate at their own comfort level. Assist participants with activities based on their individual abilities and interests. Help prepare activity materials before activities and clean up afterward. Assist with special events, celebrations, birthdays, holiday activities, and community events. Help create a positive, fun, and respectful environment. Arts, Crafts & Creative Projects Assist with preparing and organizing craft projects. Set up tables, supplies, decorations, and activity stations. Help participants complete crafts and other creative projects. Maintain an organized supply area. Track commonly used craft and activity supplies. Notify the supervisor when supplies need to be reordered. Field Trips & Community Activities Assist staff with preparing participants for scheduled field trips. Help organize supplies, materials, participant lists, and other items needed for outings. Assist with participant supervision during approved field trips and community activities. Help ensure participants remain safe and accounted for during outings. Assist with loading and organizing supplies before and after trips. Follow all program safety procedures and staff instructions. Meals & Nutrition Support Assist with meal and snack preparation and setup as directed. Set up tables and dining areas. Help distribute meals and snacks. Assist participants as appropriate during meal times. Help clean and sanitize dining areas after meals. Follow program food-service, sanitation, and safety procedures. Assist with documenting meal participation or other required information as assigned. Supply Inventory & Organization Help maintain inventory of activity, craft, office, cleaning, and program supplies. Check supply levels regularly. Organize storage areas and keep supplies clearly labeled. Notify supervisors when supplies are running low. Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing deliveries. Help maintain an orderly and safe activity and supply area. Participant Support Interact with participants in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner. Assist participants with activities and program transitions. Encourage participation while respecting each participant's abilities and preferences. Observe participants and report concerns or changes in behavior or condition to the supervisor. Follow participant care plans and staff instructions. Maintain participant privacy and confidentiality. Assist with basic participant needs within the scope of the position and training. General Program Support Help set up and break down the program each day. Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. Help prepare rooms for activities and events. Assist supervisors and other staff with daily program needs. Perform other reasonable duties necessary to support the operation of the Adult Day Program.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Must be dependable and punctual. Must enjoy working with older adults. Must demonstrate patience, kindness, and compassion. Must be comfortable working with individuals with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Must be able to work as part of a team. Must be able to follow directions and program procedures. Must have good communication skills. Must be willing to assist with a variety of tasks throughout the day. Must be able to maintain participant confidentiality. Must successfully complete required background checks and program requirements.
Preferred:
Previous experience working with seniors or adults with disabilities. Experience in an adult day program, senior center, assisted living, home care, healthcare, recreation, or similar setting. Experience leading arts and crafts or recreational activities. Experience working with individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease. CNA, caregiver, CPR/First Aid, or other related training is a plus but not required . Previous experience assisting with community outings or field trips is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is an active position. The employee should be able to: Stand and walk throughout the program. Move around the activity areas throughout the day. Set up tables, chairs, activities, and supplies. Lift and carry reasonable amounts of program supplies. Bend, reach, stoop, and move supplies as needed. Assist participants with activities and program transitions. Participate in field trips and community activities.
Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 per week
