Job Description

Make a meaningful impact as a dedicated paraprofessional supporting students with specialized medical and behavioral needs. Contribute your compassion and care to a dynamic school environment near Independence, MO, on a contract basis. This essential role involves working closely with two remarkable female students: a 4th grader and an 11th grader, both requiring individualized assistance due to medical fragility.
Desired Background and Experience:
Prior experience as a paraprofessional in educational settings Previous support for students requiring one-on-one care, preferred Familiarity with toileting/diapering protocols for students with medical needs Comfort working with students who have behavioral challenges (especially for the 11th grade student) Experience with a hoyer lift is helpfulcampus training available for those new to this equipment Compassionate, patient, and ready to learn new skills Excellent communication skills and collaborative attitude
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one support tailored to the needs of assigned students throughout the school day Assist with personal care needs, including toileting and diapering Monitor and respond to medical and behavioral requirements Participate in Tuesday morning team meetings for coordinated student care Create a supportive, respectful, and safe environment that empowers each student to succeed This position offers the rewarding opportunity to develop specialized skills, receive hands-on training, and play a vital part in these students educational journeys. Building hours are 8:45 am to 4:15 pm, with a team meeting every Tuesday at 8:00 am.
