Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a paraprofessional in a vibrant school district near Lees Summit, MO! This contract position is perfect for those looking for schedule flexibility, as it allows you to choose shifts via an easy-to-use app—work as little as one day or up to five days each week. Step into a support role in SPED classrooms, primarily in elementary settings but with coverage for middle and high schools as well. You'll play a vital part in assisting students with behavioral needs, support plans (BIPs), and may be called on for 1:1 or classroom aide assignments, sometimes including toileting support.
Key Qualifications:
Active substitute certification (SUB cert) on DESE or in process—must be active by start date Experience in school settings, especially with behavioral needs Willingness to complete district-specific fingerprinting prior to the assignment Ability to commit to per diem assignments (hours not guaranteed; you're paid for what you work) Comfortable navigating an app for scheduling and accepting assignments Flexibility for various schedules: •
Middle:
7:00am-2:30pm •
High:
7:30am-3:00pm •
Elementary:
8:30am-4:00pm or 9:00am-4:30pm
Responsibilities:
Support students with identified behavior plans in diverse classroom environments Provide assistance with classroom management, academic tasks, and possibly mobility and toileting Adapt quickly to a variety of classroom roles Communicate with teachers and staff to ensure cohesive support Uphold confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times This role offers hands-on experience in education while offering you the flexibility to create your own schedule.
