Teacher Aide - Para Educator

Description:

Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic School in Lee's Summit, Missouri, is seeking a paraprofessional educator for its inclusive education program for the 2026-2027 school year. A paraeducator's primary role is to offer students an extra level of support and guidance inside and outside of the classroom.

Responsibilities Assist with instructional support:

This includes working one-on-one with students, preparing classroom materials and other as needed. Implement activities planned by classroom teacher or inclusive education coordinator. Bridge communication between classroom teacher and student's parents by providing a weekly progress report outlining assistance/modifications given for specific classes and subject area. Based on child's SEP (Student Education Plan) and teacher directives, implement modified curriculum activities to meet individual learning goals. Provide for student's social and emotional needs through respite activities and "brain breaks." Maintain records of all activities planned and completed. Provide daily records to inclusive education coordinator. Attend and participate in professional learning activities as assigned. Complete other assigned tasks.

Requirements:

High school diploma Teaching, childcare, or teacher aid experience Patience, flexibility, positive attitude Familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is an asset.
