Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Seeking dedicated paraprofessionals to support students in various special education settings within a school district near Liberty, Missouri. This per diem contract role offers flexible scheduling with opportunities to work 1-5 days per week, primarily covering contractor call-outs across multiple elementary, middle, and high schools. Responsibilities include assisting in SPED classrooms, supporting students with behavioral needs, implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs), and providing 1:1 or classroom aide support. Some duties may involve toileting assistance, requiring sensitivity and professionalism. Shifts vary by school level, with middle school hours typically from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM, high school from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, and elementary schools from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Key Qualifications:
Active substitute or paraprofessional certification from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is required prior to start. Prior experience working in schools, especially with students exhibiting behavioral challenges. Willingness to complete fingerprinting specific to the district's requirements. Comfort and competence in supporting students in behavioral interventions and personal care when necessary.
