Job Description

Macon R-1 School District is seeking a caring, dependable individual to serve as a part-time Personal Paraprofessional in the Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide individualized support to an assigned student

Assist the student with entering and exiting wheelchair and with other transfers, using appropriate procedures and equipment

Assist with toileting, diapering, personal hygiene, and other daily care needs

Support the student's participation in classroom activities, routines and transitions

Follow the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP), health plan, safety plan, and staff directions

Help maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment

Protect student confidentiality and communicate professionally with students, families, and staff

Complete additional training related to the student's individual medical, mobility, personal-care, behavioral, and educational needs

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or administrator

Qualifications:

Must obtain, at minimum, a valid Substitute Certificate issued by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
