In the absence of the teacher, record child attendance daily for each assigned child; report absences to assigned Family Community Worker. Assist with maintaining and updating clear and concise Education Records for each assigned child. Assist with maintaining order during indoor and outdoor activities continuously each day using positive approaches to behavior management. Corporal punishment of any kind is prohibited. Preferred:

Associate Degree in Child Development or related field with one (1) year of demonstrated experience in childcare, early childhood development or related field, or currently enrolled in college.

Minimum:

Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification with six (6) months of demonstrated experience in childcare, early childhood development environments, or currently enrolled in college. Strong knowledge of theories and practices of Early Childhood Development in Head Start. Working knowledge of Head Start and State Child Care regulatory environment. Demonstrated experience in childcare, early childhood development, or related areas.
