Qualifications
Meet qualifications for NCLB (48 hours of college or higher OR has pass state mandated test - Work keys)
Ability to work with young children
Reports To
Building principal or designee
Under direct supervision of teacher
Job Goal
To provide a program for pre-kindergarten children that is designed to promote the development of cognitive, psychomotor, and affective skills of participating children.
Essential Functions
Works with students selected for participation in the pre-kindergarten project
Assists school staff in scheduling selected students for project activities
Follows a schedule of time periods with students each day as directed by supervising teacher
Works with students in small and large groups
Reinforces activities for a daily group from specific concepts designated and approved by the teacher
Assists with the personalized instructional sessions of pupils to meet needs indicated by the Basic Skills Checklists
Implements planned activities for gross motor activities to be used to meet needs as designated by the Basic Skills Checklists
Assumes non-instructional duties assigned by the principal before and after the class day as current hours per day will allow
Performs other related duties as requested or assigned

The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of personnel.
