Job Description

Special Education Paraprofessional at Sacajawea Middle School•.375 FTE•15 hours/week
Salary Range:
Grade SPED D:
$19.47•$20.88/hr. DOE or current placement on salary schedule.
Benefits Available Description:
This position is a part of a team of staff working primarily in a special education setting with additional support provided in inclusion and general education classrooms. The aide will collaborate closely with the supervising teacher as well as with the general education teachers in support of student success. Responsibilities will include tutoring and supervision of students at all grade levels in a variety of settings within the school.
Qualifications:
Previous experience of working with students, particularly students with learning challenges, is preferred. Valuable attributes include patience, flexibility, initiative, problem-solving, creativity, and a student-centered mindset. Strong communication skills are very valuable. High School Diploma or GED; 2 Years of post secondary education, or Associates Degree.
Working Conditions:
The position is working closely with students individually or in small groups within the special education classroom and throughout the elementary school in general education settings.
