Job Description

Mountain Bluebells Preschool and Nursery is a nonprofit organization that works with up to 15 children ages 3 months to 7 years. We are open Monday through Thursday, 8am-5pm. Ocassional meetings are held on Fridays, as well as school gatherings that are held outside of school hours. Our school provides a warm, non-institutional, homelike environment for our children as well as our staff. We are seeking a wonderful human to become an Assistant Teacher. Currently, we are looking for someone to work around 7 hours per day, Monday through Thursday. There is the potential for growth in this position, as well as an expanded schedule. Pay begins at $17/hour or is negotiable based on experience. Much of our day is spent outdoors, in all weather. We follow a Waldorf inspired, LifeWays centered curriculum with an emphasis on kindness and relationship building. Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher in managing classroom activities and maintaining a positive learning environment. Support children in their daily routines, including meal times and play activities. Help implement lesson plans and educational activities that promote early childhood development. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to foster a collaborative atmosphere. Monitor children's behavior and provide guidance to ensure safety and well-being. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills. Qualifications Strong classroom management skills Experience working with children in a preschool setting Effective communication abilities Knowledge of early childhood education principles Background in childcare and behavior management
