It is an extended school day program that provides the students at Isaac Dickson Elementary opportunities to have fun, make friends, create, grow, and learn in a safe and supportive environment. Our team is dedicated to fostering a sense of community and belonging for all, and to developing lessons that inspire joy and a passion for learning. The After School Program staff will work with the team to provide a quality enrichment after school program for all students and a place where our students love to be. This position is perfect for education students or anyone with some recreation leader experience.
Assistant Teacher is responsible for:
Assist in the implementation of daily lessons Supervising recreational and enrichment activities Supervision and safety of children in group setting Encouraging positive behavior and learning outcomes
Qualifications:
Minimum of 20 years of age with high school education or equivalent At least 1 year experience working with groups of elementary school-aged children in either an educational or recreational setting./Ability to effectively manage children in a group setting Must pass background check. Position is for the 2026-2027 school year. CPR, first aid certification a plus
Qualities:
We are looking for applicants who are creative, energetic, flexible, patient, compassionate, and who are excellent role models for the children. The perfect candidate will be able to build strong relationships with students and develop a rapport with the team and parents. Must be available Monday-Friday between the hours of 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm, occasional extended hours on teacher work days, and monthly after-hours staff meetings.
