ISS Teacher Assistant Job Description

General Statement of Job:

Monitor students who, because of infractions, cannot remain in the regular classroom setting. Individual will report to principal.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Assure the well being of students in classroom

Monitor class work as assigned by teachers

Provide necessary feedback to principals, teachers, guidance counselor, etc.

Maintain accurate records of assigned students

Additional Job Functions:

Crisis Intervention Team

Positive Behavior Intervention Support Team (PBIS)

Other duties as assigned by principal

Minimum Training and Experience:

Two year degree or 48 semester hours

Must have and maintain a valid North Carolina bus license

Minimum Qualifications or Standards Required To Perform Essential Job Functions:

Must possess some computer skills and have good communication skills. Must be able to follow written and verbal directions.
