Teaching Assistant - Durham Secondary Schools Competitive Daily Rates, Long-Term, ASAP Start Teaching Personnel is recruiting Teaching Assistants for secondary schools across Durham, with positions available immediately. These are long-term placements in inclusive, well-supported school environments where support staff are valued and the work you do has a visible, lasting impact on the students you work with. Working across KS3 and KS4, you'll be supporting students with a range of needs — building consistent relationships, delivering targeted interventions, and helping young people access learning in a way that works for them.
What the role involves:
Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 on a 1:1 and small group basis Delivering targeted interventions and assisting with classroom management Working with students with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties Helping students develop independence and confidence in their learning Liaising with the SENCO and wider support team as required What we're looking for: Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting A solid understanding of SEND and how to support diverse learners Patient, reliable, and confident building relationships with students Level 3 qualification desirable but not essential with relevant experience Enhanced DBS on the Update Service What Teaching Personnel offers: Competitive daily rates Weekly pay via PAYE Dedicated consultant support Free CPD and SEND training Opportunities for permanent employment
