In this vital role, you will work closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to create an inclusive, nurturing environment that promotes the academic, social, and emotional development of students with diverse learning needs. Your energetic approach and commitment to student success will help foster a positive classroom atmosphere where every student feels valued and supported. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with disabilities while gaining valuable experience in special education. Responsibilities Instructs individuals and groups in special education skill areas (including academic and life skills) Plans curriculum, lessons and special education programs Evaluates and monitors student progress Keeps records and records data In coordination with the classroom that the teacher creates Assumes the responsibility for the development and implementation of specific learning objectives to meet the needs of individual students. Uses both the pull-out and push-in methods for students to support their learning. Qualifications Prior experience working with children or students with disabilities in classroom or childcare settings is highly desirable Knowledge of special education practices, including familiarity with IEPs, behavior management strategies, and autism spectrum disorders support Strong communication skills Ability to provide physical assistance as needed for students requiring additional support Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team of educators and specialists Commitment to creating an inclusive environment that respects diverse learning needs
Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
