Job Description

An employee in this class will assist with developing, planning, organizing, and implementing specialized recreation programs. Initiate and implement programs for both adaptive recreation and mature adults Assist with the operation of Wayne County Senior Games Responsible for reports and paperwork Performs other related work throughout the department as required Working hours for the position will include evenings, nights, and some weekends, up to 20 hours per week Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and bend, occasionally in conjunction with reaching for and manipulating objects. The position requires mobility including the ability to move materials weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis such as boxes/bags of activity materials, snack foods, etc. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 70% of the work period while working with participants in activities. The duties of the position require the employee to be inside and outside, exposure to heat in summer and cold in winter is likely. Exposure to loud noise fluctuates but should not require ear protection. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required Experience working with adaptive recreation preferred First Aid and CPR certification a plus The City of Goldsboro is an Equal Opportunity Employer!
