In this vital role, you will support classroom teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive, and effective instruction to students with diverse learning needs. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster a positive learning environment where every student can thrive. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children while gaining valuable experience in education and special needs support. Duties Assisting lead teachers by reviewing learning materials, reinforcing concepts with small groups or individual children, and helping prepare lesson plans, creative arts, music, and daily indoor or outdoor activities. Maintaining constant supervision of children during class routines, meals, recess, playground use, and special events like field trips to ensure a secure environment. Providing hands-on personal aid such as assisting with hygiene, toileting, diapering, feeding, and promoting sound nutritional practices during group meals. Modeling positive social behaviors and utilizing developmentally appropriate behavior management techniques to help children acquire essential social and emotional skills. Aiding with routine record-keeping (such as attendance and student progress notes), keeping the classroom organized, sanitizing interactive areas, and setting up necessary equipment and materials. Assisting teachers in maintaining open communication with parents and legal guardians, and encouraging family involvement in facility programs and activities.[3] [ Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent OR Completed and hold a currently active Para- Professional or higher certification on the Early Care and Education Professional (ECE) scale issued by the NC Institute for Child Development Professionals prior to 7/1/2025 (upload a copy of the certificate or letter).
