A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for preschool-aged children
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in each child
- Use positive behavior management techniques to promote a positive classroom environment
- Collaborate with parents and communicate regularly about their child's progress
- Maintain accurate records of each child's development and milestones
- Ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies
Skills:
- Experience working with children, preferably in a preschool or daycare setting
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that promotes learning and development in areas such as math, language, and social skills
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Ability to adapt lessons and activities to meet the individual needs of each child
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors
