Job Description
(PART-TIME) An employee in this position is responsible for the oversight of Tarboro Parks and Recreation Department Programs and Activities. This includes the instruction and scheduling of a designated program or activity, developing and implementing daily lesson plans, recording and reporting attendance, performing general housekeeping maintenance and clean up, ensuring student safety, enforcing rules, and communicating with participants about concerns or progress. The Program Instructor reports to the Parks and Recreation Staff that is responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of the designated program, and its delivery in a positive instructional setting. The Program Instructor will need to be able to provide direction to staff, make judicious decisions regarding the safety of participants, and ensure efficient operations of the designated program. Considerable interaction with our patrons and the public is required. Applicant must be able to follow oral and written instructions and have good communication skills. Applicants must be 18 years or older, possess a valid N. C. driving license. Part-time wages will be based on experience ranging from $11.00 - $15.00 per hour.
