Job Description

Position will assist in planning and implementing the weekly CSI summer day camp schedule. Lead educational and engaging lesson plans and activities for camp participants both at CSI and in the field. Identify and respond to camper behavior issues. Communicate camp activities and participant experiences with camp leadership. Know, understand and follow all CSI and ECU camp safety protocols and procedures associated with CSI's summer camp program. Minimum Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related childcare experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education A high school degree or equivalent is required. Team player and the ability to work in a fast-paced educational environment. A high degree resourcefulness and problem-solving skills. Good judgment and be flexible. Excellent oral and communication skills. Knowledge of natural history, environmental and marine education. Interpersonal skills, time management, leadership, research, planning and organizing skills. Have the ability to lead and participate in camp activities in a variety of environments including CSI classrooms and in the field. Ability to lift 50lbs. License or Certification Required by the Department Valid NC Driver's License Upon hire, completion of CPR, first aid and any additional training required by ECU/CSI.
