Understands basic childhood developmental milestones and recognizes the diversity of all students. Holds a secondary school diploma or its recognized equivalent and meet one of the following three requirements to be employed: Obtained a working knowledge in reading, mathematics, and writing by completing two years of study (48 semester hours) at an institution of higher education; or Obtained an associate's (or higher) degree; or Met a rigorous and objective standard of quality, which includes a North Dakota approved assessment of skills in reading, mathematics, and writing. Individuals holding a North Dakota educator's professional license meet the requirements under ESSA and the teaching license number could be used in lieu of the paraprofessional certificate of completion number. General understanding of computer applications. Excellent communication skills and must be able to collaborate effectively with parents, staff members, and community. Such additions to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.RESPONSIBLE TO

To perform assigned duties in such a manner as to promote a safe, collaborative, and innovative learning community for students, staff, parents, and administration.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
This employee will work collaboratively with supervising teachers to plan and carry out appropriate student activity. This employee must have the willingness to take the initiative to help any student within the assigned work environment. This employee may assist with the implementation of behavioral management plans including appropriate intervention techniques. This employee may be responsible for assisting in meeting the accommodations outlined in a student's IEP, 504, behavioral, or health plan. Duties may include monitoring adaptive equipment, including but not limited to, assistive technology devices, wheelchairs, feeding devices, standers, and various medical technology. Training and monitoring will be provided. This employee may assist with the daily school operations such as library, technology, clerical, and student supervision duties. This employee will assist with other duties as assigned by the principal to meet the needs of all students. This employee must maintain confidentiality and a high level of ethical behavior.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Normally 175 working days (the actual number of working days may vary as determined by the superintendent). Typically working 7- 8 hours per day depending on position / 35
- 40 hours per week/ 9 months per year
- willing to be flexible and hire for shorter hours. Salary and benefits are determined by the Board of Education in accordance with the 2026-2027 Classified Salary & Benefit Package. The current salary range is $19.25

EVALUATION
A performance review will be conducted annually in accordance with the provisions established by the administration and the Board.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The job's functions may require the following physical demands: Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. This position requires the ability to lift 30lbs. Applicants who are residents of ND and eligible to claim veteran's preference must upload a Form DD214.
