Classroom Support FT (Mandan) Hot Job West River Head Start - Mandan, ND 58554 Apply Overview Salary Range $17.00 - $17.00 Hourly Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Apply Description Foster positive, meaningful interactions with children while remaining flexible and responsive to daily routines and changes and offering support where needed. Provide dependable, consistent support to teachers in creating a welcoming, safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that promotes each child's growth and development. Maintain a clean, organized classroom. Assist with implementing curriculum and lesson plans to meet the required Head Start Performance Standards. Requirements High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license Experience working with children ages 3 to 5 is preferred. Adequate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Comfortable using online platforms. Details $17.00/hour 40 hours per week 9-month position from mid-August to mid-May. If interested, summer hours may be available through HIT, Inc. Children attend Head Start on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Wednesdays are used for classroom prep and staff training. Duties Adhere to all principles of confidentiality Follow the direction of the teacher and help where needed; be willing to learn new skills. Assist in helping children follow classroom routines, carrying out classroom jobs, going outside, toothbrushing, bathroom needs, completing drills, etc. Be flexible in the daily routine. Prep meals & tables according to site specific procedures before breakfast, lunch, and snack; clean up after each meal. Wash dishes as needed. Cover breaks for teaching staff. Communicate information or concerns to the classroom teacher and/or Education Coordinator. Demonstrate a positive attitude with parents, community members and other staff. Take pride in keeping a clean and organized classroom/facility. Be a good role model and build positive relations with children. Comply with all facility, Head Start Policy and Procedures and HIT Expectations. Demonstrate computer skills to adequately perform job responsibilities.
