Daycare Assistant Teacher Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Daycare Assistant Teacher to support the care and development of young children in a nurturing educational environment. The ideal candidate will assist lead teachers in providing a safe, engaging, and stimulating atmosphere for infants through preschool-aged children. This role requires a strong understanding of childhood development, child supervision, and basic caregiving skills to ensure the well-being of every child in our care. Duties Assist the lead teacher with daily childcare activities, including diaper changes, bottle feeding, and taking children potty. Support infants and young children with their individual needs, ensuring proper care and comfort. Engage children in age-appropriate activities such as crafts and play to promote developmental growth. Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with classroom cleaning and organization. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety at all times. Follow mandated reporting laws to appropriately report any concerns regarding child safety or well-being. Support the implementation of childhood development programs tailored to various age groups. Provide first aid and CPR when necessary, adhering to safety protocols to handle minor injuries or emergencies. Skills Experience working in a daycare center or with young children is preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-specific needs. Ability to perform first aid and CPR or willing to get certified within the first 6 months. Strong child supervision skills with patience and compassion. Effective communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and team members. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety. Teaching experience with young children is advantageous but not required; a genuine passion for early childhood education is essential.
