ASSISTANT- Special Education 2026-2027
Contract Period:
Year-round position, 40 hours/week, non-exempt

Special Education Director Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. An associate's degree in a related field or three to five years of office experience is preferred . Strong administrative and communication skills are required, along with proficiency in Google Workspace, including Gmail, Sheets, and Docs. The position requires excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, including experience with scheduling. The incumbent must demonstrate a positive attitude, maintain strict student confidentiality, and adhere to FERPA guidelines. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team is essential. Familiarity with special education timelines is preferred.
DUTIES:
Maintain special education student records and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations using NHSEIS. Assist with ordering supplies and processing invoices as approved by the Director. Support special education faculty and administration with access for sending town students in NHSEIS. Collaborate with office staff to prioritize and manage office workload as needed. Maintain special education office and departmental supplies. Assist with scheduling meetings related to special education students as needed. Return student files to districts in accordance with established file retention policies. Maintain and update office spreadsheets and tracking documents. Update student service information in ASPEN (e.g., services, preferential seating, and related supports). Assist with processing and routing student extension or shortened-day requests requiring the Director's signature.
