PAY RANGE
$18.25 - $26.25 per hour depending on type of certification (Paraeducator I, Paraeducator II) and experience
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalentParaeducator I or Paraeducator II Certification is required.

Prefer experience working with students who have varied strengths/abilities/needs.

Paraprofessional certification is desired but not necessary.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Positive, cooperative approach to problem solving.

Motivated to work collaboratively with team members.

Knowledge of basic skills of operating systems of computers and assistive technology.

Demonstrate organizational skills.
SUMMARY:
The Paraprofessional will assist, support and work under the direction and close supervision of teachers, administrators and other team members in providing educational benefit for students. The Paraprofessional will implement, NOT DEVELOP, lesson plans provided by Special Education Teacher/Case Manager, Classroom Teacher, Speech Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Psychologist, and Consultants.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reads, understands and implements Individual Education Program (IEP)goals and objectives as directed by Special Education Teacher/Case Manager, Classroom Teacher, Speech Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Psychologist and ConsultantsFacilitates participation of students in accessing the general curriculumGathers, collects and records data, on data sheets, related to IEP goals;shares information, observations and insights with team membersSupports and implements the school's values and practices regardinginstructional strategies, expectations for peer behavior, peer interactionand inclusionInform Special Education Case Manager, Classroom Teacher, and other district staff of student progressAttends, participates and integrates information learned in weekly Paraprofessional meetings, Special Education team meetings/conferencesinto classroom as directed.

Maintains strict confidentiality regarding all student information.

Prepares educational materials as directed by Special Education Teacher/Case Manager, Classroom Teacher, Occupational Therapist, Speech Language Therapist, Physical Therapist, Psychologist, and Consultants.

Creates substitute paraprofessional plans.

Prepares Medicaid paperwork.

Attends workshops and trainings as needed. (7.25 hours of work per day)Carries over of learned behaviors and skill, including the use of assistive technology, throughout the daily schedule as recommended by the Special Education/Case Manager, Classroom Teacher, and Related-Service Personnel.

Works with students as assigned by administrator. Solves practical and clinical problems using learned techniques and skills, and within the scope of the current school district's policies.

Makes independent judgments within the scope of respective job duties.

Knowledge of punctuation, formatting, spelling, and grammatical skills, and be able to apply these skills to reporting functions if needed.

Adaptable to performing under minimal stress in the event of an emergency or crisis.

Performs school responsibilities as appropriate and/or assigned.

Provides any other assistance to students, directly related to the position as assigned by Special Education Teacher, Classroom Teacher and Administration.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR EMOTIONAL/BEHAVIORAL
Knowledge of characteristics of behavioral disorders and appropriate interventions (CP, LSCI)Will participate and successfully complete district provided specific trainingsPlease include a cover letter, resume, transcripts, certification information, and 3 recent letters of recommendation.
