Job Description
We are a small, independent Montessori micro school seeking a full-time Classroom Assistant to join our team. This role focuses on supporting our lead teachers and helping create a calm, well-prepared, and nurturing environment for children ages 3-6. Responsibilities include assisting with daily classroom activities, maintaining organized materials and spaces, overseeing lunchtime and nap time routines, supporting our aftercare program, and contributing to the many day-to-day tasks that keep the school running smoothly. This position also includes arriving early to thoughtfully prepare the classroom for the day, as well as completing end-of-day responsibilities to ensure the space is reset and ready for the following morning. This is an entry-level position and not a lead teaching role. While some tasks may be behind the scenes, they are meaningful, appreciated, and essential to the rhythm and success of the classroom. We are looking for someone who:
- Truly enjoys being around young children and brings patience, care, and mindfulness to their interactions
- Is comfortable in a busy, fast-moving environment and can remain steady, attentive, and responsive throughout the day
- Is dependable, responsible, and takes pride in doing even the small things well
- Can take initiative while also being open to guidance and collaboration
- Feels comfortable asking for help or clarification when needed
- Works well as part of a team and respects the structure of the classroom
- Has familiarity with the Montessori method (a strong plus) We offer a warm, supportive environment with a close-knit community of families and educators who genuinely value one another.
