Position Summary The Instructional Assistant supports the classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for preschool children. The Instructional Assistant works closely with the lead teacher to support daily classroom activities, student learning, social-emotional development, and the overall needs of the children. Essential Responsibilities Assist the classroom teacher with daily classroom routines, activities, and lessons. Provide individual and small-group support to students as directed by the teacher. Help create a positive, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times. Assist children with personal needs, including toileting, handwashing, dressing, meals, and other age-appropriate self-help skills. Support students during arrival, dismissal, transitions, centers, outdoor play, meals, rest time, and other classroom routines. Encourage positive social interactions, cooperation, sharing, and problem-solving among students. Assist with preparing classroom materials, bulletin boards, learning centers, and activities. Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment. Observe and communicate student needs, behaviors, and progress to the classroom teacher. Follow all school policies, procedures, health and safety guidelines, and licensing requirements. Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and other school activities as requested. Establish positive and respectful relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff. Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience working with preschool-aged children preferred. Ability to work effectively as part of a classroom team. Patience, flexibility, and a genuine interest in working with young children. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain a safe, positive, and nurturing environment. Ability to follow directions and classroom procedures. Must meet all applicable background check, health, and licensing requirements.
Pay:
$35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
