Job Description

The Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department of Middlesex College invites applications for part-time, non-credit instructors to teach the following course:
Medical Assistant Important:
Please note that a non-credit instructor is not an adjunct position. Successful candidates teach courses in the Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department (WDLL).
Primary Responsibilities:
The ability to teach a program up to 460 hours, up to 25 hours per week (5 days per week for 19 weeks) which includes the following subject areas: Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Terminology Infection Control, HIPAA, OSHA and other applicable regulatory requirements of the medical office Office administrative procedures: medical records, filing, electronic PMS such as Medisoft, office machines and telephone Clinical procedures common to the outpatient medical office Supervises students, conducts classroom instruction and practical exercises, maintains a safe environment conducive to learning, maintains classroom facilities
Minimum Qualifications :
High School diploma or equivalent Previous experience teaching the subject matter Experience teaching adult learners Three (3) years' experience working as a Medical Assistant Ability to teach in Edison, New Brunswick, or Perth Amboy Possesses and maintains current certification as a Medical Assistant (MA) or as a healthcare provider with a license/certification beyond
MA Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree Experience teaching in higher education Experience/certification in phlebotomy and/or
EKG Supplemental Information :

WDLL is currently seeking a Medical Assistant instructor to teach in person, days at the Edison, New Brunswick and Perth Amboy campuses. Please note that this is a pooled position for instructors.
