Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our vibrant educational team. In this dynamic role, you will support classroom teachers by assisting with daily instructional activities, supervising children, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for all students. As a floater, you will have the opportunity to work across multiple classrooms, gaining diverse experience while fostering early childhood development and learning. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers with implementing lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards and the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions to ensure safety and positive behavior management. Support classroom management strategies by promoting respectful communication and appropriate behavior among students. Engage children in literacy, math, and educational activities that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and foundational skills. Collaborate with teachers on individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities or special needs, including those with autism. Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that complies with educational regulations and health standards. Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and developmental milestones. Utilize computers and educational technologies to enhance learning experiences for children. Assist in mentoring new staff or interns and contribute positively to team collaboration efforts. Follow all safety protocols including first aid and CPR procedures to ensure child safety at all times. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in early childhood or classroom settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom behavior management strategies. Familiarity with special education practices, including working with individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members. Ability to supervise children responsibly while maintaining a nurturing environment. Understanding of educational compliance standards and regulations governing early childhood education programs. Proficiency in using computers and educational technologies to support teaching activities. Certification in first aid and CPR is required or obtainable upon hire. Experience in private school settings or working with diverse student populations is a plus.
