Job Summary:
Academic Support Programs is seeking a part-time, in-person program assistant to aid in the implementation and delivery of all services. The position will report to the Director of Academic Support Programs and is essential in providing holistic support to all Rowan University Students. Below is a list of the essential job responsibilities and preferred qualifications: Specific tasks, duties and responsibilities: Answer general academic related questions, and help students as they navigate their Rowan experience
Answer phone calls, manage emails, and maintain office calendars
Assist with organizing databases, workshops, and special events
Troubleshoot questions and concerns for students and families entering our office
Schedule student appointments across all Academic Support services
Send appointment reminders Track student no-shows and cancellations and reach out to offer to reschedule
Communicate with students who receive Starfish (RSN) or other referrals for our services
Possess a thorough understanding of campus resourses
Utilize web based applications such as Self-Service Banner, Profjobs, Canvas, and others
Assist with open houses, orientations or other tabling events. Assist with scheduling and delivering classroom presentations
Attend weekly staff meetings
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree
One (1) year of professional experience
Ability to demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in academic support
Demonstrated background in helping diverse learners
Rate:
$22 per hour.
Hours:
This temporary, part-time position is assigned no more than twenty-five (25) hours per week and is not to exceed 944 hours per fiscal year. Work is contracted annually to coincide with the fiscal year and is contingent upon budget appropriate.
