Our curriculum-based programs support school readiness, social development, independence, and early learning through structured, age-appropriate experiences. Little Tykes also proudly partners with local school districts to help provide children with a strong educational foundation during the most important early years of development. We are seeking a dependable, proactive, and experienced Assistant Lead Teacher to support our Two's Program. This role is ideal for an educator who is confident helping lead classroom routines, implementing developmentally appropriate learning activities, maintaining classroom structure and transitions, and creating a positive, engaging environment for children ages 2-3 years old. This position reports directly to center management and works under the guidance and oversight of program leadership responsible for curriculum implementation and classroom consistency across the Infant, Toddler, and Twos programs. Schedule Full-time position, Monday through Friday Candidates must have reliable transportation and flexibility to work scheduled shifts within center operating hours of 7:00 AM - 5:45 PM Consistent attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential for this role Responsibilities Support daily classroom leadership in a safe, organized, and engaging environment Assist with implementing curriculum-based and developmentally appropriate learning activities Lead circle time, transitions, classroom routines, and small group activities as needed Maintain classroom structure, consistency, and positive behavior guidance Foster children's social, emotional, and developmental growth through hands-on engagement Maintain professional communication with families, coworkers, and management Assist with classroom documentation, daily reports, and observations Support classroom preparedness, organization, cleanliness, and licensing compliance Assist with diaper changing, potty training, meal routines, and daily childcare responsibilities Work collaboratively with staff and management to support classroom consistency, daily operations, and child development Qualifications Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on teaching experience with children ages 18-36 months in a licensed childcare or early childhood education setting An active CDA Infant-Toddler Credential and/or coursework in Early Childhood Education is a plus, but not required Familiarity with Creative Curriculum or play-based learning approaches preferred Familiarity with Tadpoles and/or SmartTeach preferred Reliable, organized, professional, proactive, and team-oriented Experience leading classroom routines, activities, and transitions independently Strong classroom management and positive behavior guidance skills Strong understanding of toddler development and early childhood learning practices Ability to confidently lead daily classroom operations when needed and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and learning experiences Strong communication skills with both families and coworkers Must be comfortable working in a hands-on classroom environment that includes active supervision, classroom cleaning responsibilities, diaper changing, potty training support, and daily engagement with children throughout the day
