  • A MAARS Academy Assistant Preschool Teacher assists lead teachers with the care and supervision of a group of 6-12 preschool age students.
Job responsibilities include reading stories, leading indoor and outdoor activities for a small group of children, planning art projects, and assisting lead teacher with large group circle time and work periods. Job involves physical activity such as lifting and cleaning. Qualifications CPR and First Aid certification Fingerprint clearance A knowledge of Montessori principles Previous experience working in preschool Minimum of 6 units of early childhood education General Job Functions Develop and deliver curriculum founded on the school's philosophies whilst following childcare regulations Create positive learning environments including resources based on child-directed learning Develop strategies to guide positive children's behavior Build good, open communication with children, families, and staff Observe and record children's growth, development and behavior using electronic portfolios Ensure the learning environment is clean, hygienic and safe Help develop teaching goals for the school and its teachers Good classroom management skills Nature-based and friendly with planet earth and living things
