Job Description
Teacher's Assistant The Teacher's Assistant will ensure that the classroom operates within the highest standards of educational excellence and offers a safe learning environment. They are responsible for assisting the teachers with the students' academic, social, and other required formative skills in accordance with the State of New Jersey. The Teacher's Assistant will also model Superior Start Christian Learning Center's Mission, Vision, and Core Values. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to: Maintaining a safe and supportive environment for young children Assisting teachers with carrying out lesson plans Helping children use the bathroom or, when necessary, changing diapers Handling basic hygiene needs such as handwashing Preparing children for and supervising them during naptime Preparing and serving lunch or healthy snacks Supporting preschool teachers with preferred classroom management and discipline strategies Participate and help with various tasks as needed Education and Experience High School diploma and some child care experience preferred. Child Development credits a plus. Required Skills and Abilities
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Physically able to carry out the duties of a teacher of young children
- Willingness to undergo supervision and training
- Ability to adapt to different assignment or program changes
- Must be reliable Requirement for All Child Care Center Employees Must be willing to submit to and pass necessary fingerprinting and background checks in accordance with New Jersey Child Care licensing requirements.
