- Assists the teacher in the implementation of lessons and various instructional models, while following the daily classroom routine.
- Assists the students with personal hygiene, diapering, toileting and self-care needs.
- Follows directions and plans given by the teacher, therapist, nurse and behaviorist.
- Communicates effectively and develops and maintains professional cooperative working relationships with team members, as well as students and their families.
- Develops a working knowledge of assistive devices and adaptive equipment used by students.
- Assists with other duties that may be assigned, including field trips.
- Physical demands include lifting/transferring students and providing the necessary support and handling for the student to access the educational program and achieve their goals.
- Associates Degree Preferred. (30 or more college credits.)
- 30 Hours per week. 8:30 AM
- 3:00 PM, Monday-Friday
- Salary: from $28,800
- increases from there based on prior related experience and level of education
