Day Program Assistant Manager FTE/Classification:
Full-Time/Non-Exempt Location:
Oradell, NJ Shift:
Monday - Friday (8 am - 4 pm)
Salary:
$22.60 an hour
Primary Function:
Responsible for oversite, along with Day Program Manager, for the day-to-day management of the Day Program in Oradell, NJ. The Day Program supports individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities in development of skills needed for greater independent functioning and community integration.
Performance Responsibilities:
Although each position has its own unique duties and responsibilities, the following listing applies to every employee of North Jersey Friendship House, Inc. Works towards the accomplishment of department/Agency goals Maintains confidentiality and immediately reports to management breaches in confidentiality Practices job requirements on an accurate, timely and regular basis Observes and maintains appropriate professional boundaries with members, co-workers and supervisors Attends all scheduled meetings as assigned Meets relevant continuing educational/training requirement Completes all required documentation/paperwork accurately and within established time frames Completes all assigned College of Direct Support and Relias trainings as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities when applicable Provides direct supervision to assigned staff in order to enhance their technical skills sets, leadership qualities and administrative functions Provides on-going support to staff to ensure completion of job responsibilities Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agency's policies, applicable laws and governmental regulatory agencies Evaluates staff productivity and documentation of service delivery Congers with staff to provide technical advice and to resolve problems Responsibilities include training new employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems Essential Functions include: 1. Work with Day Program Manager to establish measurable objectives and strategies to ensure each person's program is based around their individual service plan (ISP) outcomes 2. Develop and ensure site staff consistently implement strategies set forth in the individual service plan and behavior support plans 3. Responsible for supervision and training of Life Skills Coaches 4. Shared oversite and supervision of Senior Life Skill Coaches with Program Manager 5. Ensure that all DDD and Friendship House policy and procedures are followed consistently 6. Offer ideas or training materials for implementation if needed 7. Prepare for and lead group members to facilitate positive outcomes as needed in staff's absence 8. Ensure that staff/member ratios are maintained at all times in the community 9. Ensure that the trip log is utilized consistently by all staff when out in the community and all prescribed medications are available both on site and in the community 10. Maintain good working relationships with family members, Support Coordinators, transportation providers and other community resources (ie: internship placements, local businesses) in order to be the representative in Manager's absence 11. Oversight of daily documentation on each member and ensure documentation is meaningful and related to their ISP outcomes 12. Notify Program Manager/Behaviorist of any change in member behaviors, concerns or progress 13. Coordinate with the facility to remain up to date on emergency procedures and train staff accordingly 14. Work with Program Manager/Behaviorist on annual progress reports for each member 15. Maintain supply inventory and order replenishments with Manager approval 16. Oversee that all program member's records and medications are kept in a secure cabinet 17. Drive up to a 15-passenger van to and from community activities as needed 18. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Day and Community Services, Program Director or Day Program Manager 19. Fill in for Day Program Manager in his/her absence 20. Ensure reports are run daily and corrections are made timely
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Human Services or related field and one (1) year experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or other developmental disabilities Three (3) years of experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or other developmental disabilities may be substituted for Bachelor's degree Some supervisory experience required Valid driver's license with clean record required Minimum 21 years of age North Jersey Friendship House is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
