Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Part-Time Preschool Assistant, working from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM. In this dynamic role, you will support classroom activities, foster a nurturing environment, and assist lead teachers in delivering engaging educational experiences for young learners. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a positive, safe, and stimulating space where children can thrive and develop essential skills. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's early development while working in a collaborative and supportive setting. Duties Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities focused on literacy, math, social-emotional learning, and childhood development. Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions to ensure safety and engagement. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies aligned with educational regulations. Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that complies with health and safety standards. Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily activities, progress, and any concerns about their child's well-being or development. Use educational technologies and computers to enhance learning experiences for children. Collaborate with teaching staff to support individualized education plans (IEPs) for children with disabilities or special needs. Requirements Prior experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and classroom behavior management techniques. Familiarity with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) guidelines and educational compliance standards. Ability to work effectively as part of a team through strong communication skills and collaboration with teachers and staff. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required or obtainable upon hire. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is advantageous. Proficiency in using computers and educational technologies to support classroom activities. Demonstrated ability to supervise children safely while fostering a nurturing environment.
