6:00p - 8:00p (25.5 week) Duties Assist children with autism and developmental disabilities in daily routines, including communication, social skills, and behavioral management. Support classroom activities aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) guidelines. Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and address behavioral disorders effectively. Provide physical assistance as needed during classroom activities, including mobility support and sensory integration techniques. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to develop tailored support plans that meet each child's unique needs. Use communication skills such as American Sign Language (ASL) to facilitate effective interactions with students. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while documenting progress and incidents accurately. Experience Prior experience working with children or individuals with disabilities, especially those on the autism spectrum or with developmental delays. Knowledge of classroom management techniques for special education settings and behavior support strategies. Background in early childhood education, childhood development, or related fields such as Montessori or toddler care is preferred. Familiarity with special education laws, IEP development, and behavior management for students with behavioral disorders. Experience working in private or special education classrooms, supporting literacy education, math instruction, and classroom support roles. Ability to handle physical assistance tasks safely while maintaining a nurturing approach. Strong communication and writing skills to document student progress clearly and professionally.
