Our Grow NJ Kids quality rating, state approved curriculum and assessment tools, small class sizes and our beautiful natural outdoor play spaces, create a program where play and learning go hand in hand. Position Overview Assistant Teachers are responsible for working with lead teachers to implement learning activities and manage the day-to-day operational activities of our indoor and outdoor classrooms. Assistant teachers should have an understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to help ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. Assistant teachers must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, as well as being able to work effectively as part of an early education team. What You'll Do Assistant teacher responsibilities include: Assisting lead teacher in implementing activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy Supervising children in the classrooms and the outdoor spaces Help establish and maintain order in the classroom Maintain open communication with parents and co-workers Maintain clean and safe indoor and outdoor spaces Help to maintain and complete required documentation and reports Maintain professional appearance, mannerisms and support center's philosophy and educational objectives Engage in on-going staff development, trainings and staff meetings Requirements Assistant teacher candidate shall meet the following minimum requirements for consideration: High School diploma or GED Minimum 1 year childcare experience Knowledge of child development Good written and verbal communication skills High energy and creativity Able to work as part of a team Must be able to pass NJ Licensing background checks Nice To Haves The following qualifications are preferred but not required: First Aid & CPR certification CDA (Child Development Associate), Associate's Degree in ECE or related field, ECE credits Flexibility for opening and closing hours Benefits Additional benefits include: Paid Leave Sick Leave Child Care Discount Paid training and workshops Continuing education scholarship opportunities Access to Retire Ready NJ for retirement savings Access to tuition assistance for qualifying employees Supply reimbursement Mentoring from on-site Director and qualified Grow NJ Kids technical assistant specialists About Us Little Wonders Childcare & Learning Center is a Grow NJ Kids rated center located in scenic Warren County, New Jersey.
